A Look Back at August

With August coming to a close and autumn on the horizon, we’re taking a look back at the last month and all the joys that late summer has brought.

Following a lacklustre start to the summer with no end of grey skies and seemingly endless drizzle, August finally saw some clear skies perfect for long afternoons spent lounging in the garden on a bench in the sunshine, sipping on a cheeky summer cocktail or a glass of wine with a book or simply making the most of the glorious heat.

With plenty of dry weather, August has also been perfect for alfresco dining whether starting the day off with a morning coffee and croissant before a days work in the garden, a laid back afternoon tea or bringing family and friends together for an evening meal whether enjoying a buffet of picky bits or serving up your homemade specialty on the finest crockery.

The end of August doesn’t have to mean an end to outdoor fun though, with cooler days on the horizon but still with plenty of sunshine to look forward to, the coming months are the perfect time to get on the walking boots and make the most of the great outdoors as the leaves begin to change, getting your shoes muddy and soaking up all that nature has to offer, just make sure you have an umbrella to hand, just in case.

With the changing of the seasons upon us, now is also the perfect time to look at some extra ways to keep the house extra cosy for the longer nights ahead, whether you’re plugging up those drafty doors with a draught excluder or adding the warm glow of a candle to your space, or settling down with a warm drink or hearty meal.
