Mad About May

May is one of my favourite months of the year, when the longer days and lovely weather (for the most part!) are here in full force, but we still have all the promise of fun in the summer months still to come. To add to the joy, we’re treated to not one, but two Bank Holidays in May, and you celebrated the long weekends by spending time in the garden – making this category our most visited during the month.

When you think of gardens, it’s only natural to picture lots of green, and this was definitely Dibor’s colour of the month. Vibrant and full of life while still offering a muted base that suits all kinds of décor, green is just perfect to personify May.

From scatter cushions to seat pads, the most popular pattern with you this month was our Meadowbrook range, which showcases the botanical beauty of evergreen leaves. You brought a touch of nature indoors and added comfort and style to your garden chairs, getting ready to enjoy a well-earned spot of relaxation for the rest of the summer, and hosting friends and family outdoors.

Whether you completed the effect with some alfresco cocktails in the sunshine, or just wanted to brighten up your existing glassware collection with a pop of colour, you carried the love of green over to our wine glasses and tumblers this month. Across our different designs, the emerald tones caught your eye the most – and we agree that they certainly pair beautifully with the Meadowbrook soft furnishings.

Planters are always popular at this time of year – in fact they’ve appeared a lot in our run-down of previous months – and it’s one of our most populated categories. You lovely lot definitely have a few firm favourites which always sell well, but we wanted to refresh the range a little, and give the green-fingered among you the chance to uplift your garden with a new look. Just in time for May, our brand new selection of fibre clay plant pots arrived, and you snapped up the different designs right away! The trademark block colours and contemporary shapes suit outdoors spaces of all kinds, and the variety of sizes are ideal to display anything from flowers and small shrubs to large leafy plants and home-grown herbs.
