Take Some Time Out for Relaxation Day

In this modern age, there are plenty of ways for us to get stressed. Whether you’re taking care of a family, dedicated to your work, or simply faced with a busy lifestyle, make no mistake, no one is immune to the pressures of everyday life. You might dismiss small issues, but even the little things can pile up inside us. That’s why it’s so important to remember to take some time for yourself every now and then, and Relaxation Day on the 15th of August is the perfect opportunity for you to start.

Just as stress can be triggered by different things in different people, relaxation can take many forms depending on what you enjoy. Some of us are sedentary and find taking a load of our feet to be the best way to unwind, while others clear the mind by getting the body active in some way. In our opinion, sunny August couldn’t be a better time of the year for Relaxation Day to fall. In fact, studies have shown that exposure to sunlight increases the brain’s release of serotonin – a hormone associated with boosting mood and helping us feel calm and focused.  So with all of this in mind, consider celebrating the event by getting outdoors.

Another way to escape from the hustle and bustle is to make yourself a peaceful oasis at home, where those of us who prefer to take things a little easier can relax in all the comfort of our familiar surroundings, but still reap the benefits of time spent outside. Take advantage of the lovely weather by bringing the feeling of your living room to your garden for the ultimate haven.
