So Long, September

It’s often said that with each year, the time seems to go by quicker and quicker, and now that we only have 3 months of 2024 left, this definitely feels true. This week, we’ve said goodbye to September, and while we at Dibor are excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for us, we first want to look back at what last month meant for us.

The feelings which September evoke are always hard to pin down. A transitional period of the year, it’s no longer summer proper, and yet still seems too early for autumn. The great British summertime can often be fickle, and this year we were especially hard changed when it came to warm weather and carefree sunny days. When summer isn’t all we hoped for outside, it’s not hard to see why our customers wanted to do as much as they could to prolong the vibes in their homes for as long as possible.

For the first couple of weeks in September, this definitely proved to be the case when it came to your purchasing decisions. With such a wide variety of beautiful glassware as we are proud to offer, customers are certainly spoilt for choice of colours. But, across all of our different glassware designs, there was one constant favourite, and that was green. Bright and vibrant, with an exotic, botanical feel, the green goblets and tumblers are the obvious choice for those looking to carry on the summer theme into September.

Much like our coloured glassware, our Bella Perle collection is another perennial favourite, always achieving a noteworthy spot in our monthly reviews. Moving through September, you snapped up our beautiful beaded glass bowls and plates in preparation for all of the hosting opportunities in the months to come, from cosy family dinners in autumn, to festive parties in winter.

Speaking of autumn, we could very clearly see when your minds shifted into this new seasonal mode, and it will probably come as no surprise that this seemed to match the weather’s decision to stick with the grey and rainy days. In true British spirit, we don’t let a bit of bad weather discourage us from spending time outdoors, and our Muddy Walks category reflects your love of getting out in nature to soak up all the autumnal beauty. Lots of our lovely customers think our welly boot planters are perfect to decorate their gardens at this time of year, as they call to mind those peaceful walks and raise a smile each time you seem them by your front door. The gorgeous colours add character to subdued gardens now that summer’s touch is gone for the year.

Another way to give your home a welcoming look for the colder months is to display a seasonal wreath in pride of place on your front door, for a simple, yet very impressive feature that you and your visitors love. It’s equally important to pick the perfect wreath hanger to match, and you’ve made our Trailing Leaves Wreath Hanger a top-seller for September. We think this hanger is as fabulous as you do, and its best feature is its botanical design, which is perfectly suited to pair with both autumn and Christmas wreaths, so you can keep it up during the changing seasons, and bring it out year after year.
