If you have a problem with larger birds flocking to your feeder and leaving nothing left for smaller feathered friends, then this bird feeder protector is the perfect solution.

A practical and decorative garden accessory, the defender is designed to work with various hanging bird feeders. All you have to do is hang your cylindrical seed, nut or fat feeder from the hook inside the top, and place it away from nearby obstructions such as tree branches or bushes.

For the defender to be most effective, ensure the bottom of your feeder does not hang lower than the bottom of the dangling chains. Avoid using with feeders which have a wide tray that larger birds could use as a grab point. 

After a while, small birds will learn to comfortably flit between the hanging chains and use them as perches. Large birds dislike the feeling of the chains on their flight feathers, and most will soon give up use.
