Floor space: allow a circle about 160cm across, a little wider than the 140cm base, so the lower branches can spread.

Setup and storage

Up in an afternoon, away in a box

  1. 01

    Stand the base

    Open the stand and set it in the pot on a flat floor, away from radiators and fires.

  2. 02

    Join the sections

    Slot each section into the one below, largest first. The light plugs join as you go.

  3. 03

    Shape the branches

    Work from the bottom up and from the trunk out, spreading each tip a little up and a little out.

  4. 04

    Plug in and choose a mode

    Connect the 2m lead and transformer, switch on and pick one of the eight modes.

Putting it away Unplug, then take the tree apart from the top down. Fold the branches up towards the trunk and keep each section in the original box, somewhere cool and dry.
