How to Style Regal Retreat

Christmas as everyone pictures it, done properly. Berry red and holly green layered over tartan, with burnished brass and a table that has clearly been thought about. The biggest of the five, and the one that stretches furthest, from the door wreath through to the stockings on the mantel.

Start at the door with a red berry or rose wreath, 35 to 42 cm for a standard front door. Carry the red along the mantel with a pre-lit swag and the Knightsbridge velvet stockings, hung from cast iron stag, pine cone or reindeer holders rather than hooks. On the table, the Cranberry and Red Stag stoneware is microwave and dishwasher safe and comes as a set for two, four or six or piece by piece, with a glass decanter and a Highland tartan present sack to finish.
