Personalised Christmas Stockings

Choose personalised Christmas stockings in velvet, knitted, Fair Isle and tartan styles, each embroidered with a name so every stocking on the mantelpiece belongs to someone. Sizes run from a child's 40 cm stocking to a 62 cm Shetland knit that takes a proper present. Mix styles for the family or keep to one, and add a matching stocking holder if you have no fireplace hooks.

Which style?

Velvet stockings (Knightsbridge, Kensington, Quilted, Velvet Boot) are the richest in colour and the most traditional on a mantelpiece. Chunky knit, cable knit, Fair Isle and Shetland stockings suit a cosier, Scandinavian look. Felt and tartan character stockings with penguins, reindeer and snowmen work well for children and as a first stocking.

How the name is added

Velvet, felt and tartan stockings are embroidered by our embroidery team, so the name is stitched into the cuff rather than printed on. The Chunky Knit, Cable Knit, Fair Isle, Shetland, Nordic and Cosy Snowflake knits come with a personalised wooden tag instead, so the knit itself stays untouched. One name of up to 15 characters per stocking, typed into the name box exactly as you want it. Please check the spelling before you order, as personalised stockings cannot be returned unless they are faulty or we have made a mistake.

Size

Most of our stockings are between 44 cm and 51 cm tall, with openings from 13 cm to 28 cm across. The Shetland and Fair Isle knits are the longest at 60 to 62 cm, and the children's character stockings are 40 to 41 cm. The exact height and width are on each product page.

Lining

Our velvet, chunky knit and Nordic stockings are fully lined, and the chunky knit snowflake stockings are fleece lined, so they hold their shape when filled.

Care

Spot clean only. Dab marks with a cool, damp cloth and a little mild detergent, then leave the stocking to dry flat away from radiators and direct heat. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or iron, as the lining, embroidery, trims and bells are not made for it. Between Christmases, store it flat or loosely rolled in a dry place with a little tissue inside to keep its shape.

FAQs

Can I order personalised stockings in time for Christmas?

Yes. Personalised stockings are made to order and can take up to 4 to 5 working days, so order by Wednesday 16 December for delivery before Christmas. Each product page shows its current dispatch time. Non-personalised stockings can be ordered by Sunday 20 December for standard delivery, or before 2pm up to Wednesday 23 December for next working day delivery.

Is personalisation free?

Yes. The name is included in the price of every personalised stocking. There is no extra charge for adding it.

How many characters can I have?

One name of up to 15 characters per stocking.

Where does the name go?

On embroidered designs it is stitched on the cuff, in a thread colour chosen to suit the design. On the knitted designs it is on the wooden tag that comes with the stocking.

Can I return a personalised stocking?

Personalised products cannot be returned unless they are faulty or incorrect. If we have made a mistake with the name, contact us within 28 days and we will put it right.

Can I buy a set for the whole family?

Yes. Add each stocking separately so every one carries its own name and colour. Our stocking holders hold four stockings along a mantelpiece without hooks or nails.

Are the stockings lined?

Our velvet, chunky knit and Nordic stockings are fully lined. Each product page says whether a design is lined.

How do I clean a stocking?

Spot clean with a cool, damp cloth and mild detergent, dry flat away from direct heat, and never machine wash, tumble dry or iron it.
